Hello, my friends!
It’s been a long time since anything has actually happened. There’s been news about things that were about to happen, but things have not actually happened in some time. Of course, I’ve been churning up buckets of stomach acid to make them happen, so I’m excited to announce that the audio book for Devil’s Defense has finally been released! Only five months after the paperback, but, well, these things take time.
You can find it here if you want it on Audible: https://www.amazon.com/Devils-Defense-Fischer-Law-Novel/dp/B0F64383SY/
Or here if you want it anywhere else RBmedia | Devil's Defense
Please do not ask me why the Audible link is not with the others. I think it has something to do with Jeff Bezos’ feud with the rest of the world, but I’m not getting into that now. I’m also just going to point out that if you have Spotify Premium it costs you exactly zero dollars to download it, and it also costs you zero dollars to request it on Libby or whatever your library app is.
So here me, looking pitiful and pathetic, begging you to give it a chance. If it means anything, the narrator is Johanna Parker, who narrated Charlaine Harris’ Sookie Stackhouse series (which got turned into HBO’s True Blood) which is some of my all time favorite mind candy. I have spent hundreds of hours of my life listening to Johanna Parker narrate audiobooks, so let me tell you how surreal it is to hear that same voice reading my own words. Freaky, man.
While you’re at it, and while I’m hanging out on team #ShamelessSelfPromotion, go ahead and pre-order the sequel to Devil’s Defense, Devil’s Hand. It’s scheduled for release on October 7th, which at the rate time is passing will be in about fifteen minutes. Here’s the official description of it:
For fans of the new Matlock reboot, a legal thriller featuring an idealistic young lawyer who believes her bruised and abused client . . . even after discovering that client is keeping secrets that are beyond belief.
Attorney Jessica Fischer is back, and this time she feels good about helping her client. Susan Wolan is the wife of a county commissioner and the victim of domestic violence. Jessica knows the abuse happened—she’s seen the handprints on Susan’s body. But she also suspects her client is holding something back from her. What is it—and can she help save Susan from her powerful and connected abuser without damaging her own career?
As if all this weren’t enough, Jessica is simultaneously forced to deal with her estranged father, who has just come back into her life with secrets of his own. After a fall lands him in the emergency room, Jessica realizes that he and her paralegal, Diane—a person she depends on to keep her sane—might be falling for each other. She wonders if she’ll be able to stop herself from falling . . . apart.
Intrigued? Proving that there is a third book in the works, the last two words of Devil’s Hand are “Oh shit!”

Remember: the more books you buy, the closer I come to retiring from my day job. Help a girl out, please?
Congratulations! You are ON A ROLL!!
That is so cool that you got your favorite narrator. I loved the True Blood books and series too!!
